Travelling alone is one of my favourite ways to relax, to discover new things and to meet new people. It’s a different experience to travelling with friends or family, where you stick together, stick to a plan, where the priority is to spend time with each other.
When you travel alone, you can decide for yourself when you want to stay alone, when you want to meet people and which people you want to hang out with. Which places you want to see, or if you just want to spend a day in bed. Staying in hostels gives you a great opportunity to meet people and also get to know, which cities are fun to explore in the region.
I have had the most amazing experiences while travelling alone and met people that became friends for many years. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure if it was safe to solo-travel as a woman. However, I have rarely felt unsafe during my travels.
I cannot recall all the routes that I have taken when travelling alone, so I will only write down reviews of future travels. And food. Obviously.
